Glitch dread
I received two packs full of colorful, soft, mini, rubber like-candies; neon leftovers. Touching them, the idea of skewering the silicone with needle and thread came spontaneously. I kept skewering, creating a 4 meter pink line. This way of working with the material reminded me, that as a child I selected the best glass and shells from the beach. On the other hand, I felt the same feeling of an obsessive-compulsion which calms down your worried mind. Glitch dread is a work about slow processes, slow life, simple and traditional practices mutated in a continuous, calming and hypnotizing act of creating (instead of destroying) from destroyed materials. For Milan Design Week 2022 I present six ‘dreads’ which seem to grow from the ground and be suspended at the same time.
